How the finished cabinet is supposed to look:
Closed OpenWe bought the cabinet plans from Rockler Woodworking and Hardware store. There is a store about 10 miles away from where I live. The the plans can be ordered from their website. Here is the direct link to the plans. (If the link does not work, the item number is 38655.)
Dimensions are 44.5" wide by 18.5" wide by 30" high when closed and 76.25" wide by 38" deep by 29.25" high when open.

As of February 19, 2006, the sewing machine cabinet is finished!
Below is the picture DH took. Ignore the yukky color on the wall. I want to paint the walls of the room "Charles Faudree Red."
All done!DH says the plans are wonderful - no glitches - in case anyone else has a SO who does woodworking.:D
About 6 months later, I decided I didn't like to be isolated up in the bedroom while sewing. So, we moved the cabinet and the sewing machines to a corner of the family room. Here is my new sewing space.
