I got the new bodice for the hunter green velveteen Elizabethan done at 1:00 am on Saturday morning, September 10. I was not quite sure how the bodice would fit until I put it on 6 hours later because I had test fitted it only once before the shoulder seams were sewn. At the time of that fitting, there was no boning, piping, or front fastening. I am happy to report that the fit was perfect. Yea! Here is a picture of me in the new bodice and here are some notes on the latest changes to this outfit and the bodice construction.
I took some pictures of Pat in his outfit this weekend. These are the only pictures I have which show the sleeves, although they are only fastened at the armcye and the wrist. The pictures are here and here.

I did some more tweaking of the outfit I wore to the opening day of MNRF. Here are pictures and here are notes of the changes. I bought the olive green suede hat I saw opening weekend. I need to trim it with a hat band and some feathers.
The project for this week will be a new square neck bodice to replace the poorly fitting doublet bodice for the hunter green Elizabethan. I will be cannibalizing the shoulder wings, skirting, and hook and eye tape of the old doublet for the bodice.

I spent the week working on the points of Pat's Venetians and rehemming my hunter green velveteen Elizabethan and the cream forepart. No more tripping on the skirt!

MNRF opened yesterday, August 13, 2005. Here and here are some pictures of the outfit I wore to opening day and here are some notes on the construction of this outfit. There is some tweaking I need to do on this outfit before I wear it again next weekend, which I mention at the end of the construction notes. I tried on an olive green suede hat yesterday that looked so good with this outfit, I am tempted take the olive green linen in my stash and use some of it to make a hat, similar to the one I tried on, to wear with this outfit.

I added an entry to the Flemish Peasant diary. I started a new diary for a future project: The Venetian Gown of 1560-1580. Of course, I am still working on the Anne of Austria gown, but there is nothing there worth reporting. (I had an attack of ARness a.k.a Anal Retentiveness - I will confess when it has passed.)
